Grocery Store Book - Police Officer Blaze!

Blaze and AJ from Nickelodeon's Blaze and the Monster Machines are on another adventure. The two are on patrol when there is an issue with a passing train. Children can read along to see how Blaze and AJ solve this issue, and also have fun with the stickers and game that come with the book.

I give this book one out of four stars. I have never seen the show that correlates with this book, and without knowing the show, there is no way to understand who the characters are. This book was recommended for 3-7 year olds, but many of the words in the book would be very difficult for younger children to read, such as 'caboose.' I can see how this book would be very attractive to younger children as it was colorful and had stickers and a corresponding game. If children knew the show and saw this in a grocery store, I can see why they would want to get this. However, I am not sure how different this book is from the show and if children would actually choose to read this over watching the show.

  1. I had no idea this was a show on T.V. but it has all the characteristics of a grocery store book!

  2. There is a reason why these books are not recommended in schools, and you explained why. It is also important to know that many young children do not know words like caboose even though we may assume they know what it means.

  3. I also picked up this book at the grocery store and used it for my grocery store book. I did not know it was a show until yesterday when I was looking for something to keep my kid's interest while I was doing my blog posts. I also found a lot of words in the book to be a struggle for young kids. I did find the book to have a lot going on with the pictures and all the words on the pages, but the cover with the stickers definitely attracts attention to the book.
